In May 2025, Kenyatta National Hospital reported that its surgeons had performed the world’s first transhumeral targeted sensory reinnervation (TSR) procedure, describing it under the headline “Feeling again”.
The hospital’s announcement lists Dr Christine Nyabuto, then chief resident in plastic surgery at the University of Nairobi, among the supporting surgeons.
